Our company has produced a state of the art process for refurbishing the freezing surfaces of model 40 model 60 and model 90 North Star ice makers. This process is done in the field and produces a factory or better surface. By restoring this surface, energy expenses and production of ice move back to the parameters of a new machine. This process involves; installing new top and bottom rotor bearings, which are supplied by us and considered part of the process. Inspection of the pinion gear and shaft, pinion bearings and seal, and ring gear. Removal of the ice cutting tools and water system, refurbishing the drum, reassembly of the tools to proper clearances, reassembly of the water system and fine tuning the ice head speed for ultimate ice production are included in this service.
208/230 or 480 volt 3 phase power and 120 volt power are needed for this process. All labor is included to perform this service. Other labor or parts needed will be charged out as an extra on a time and materials basis. Some of the things not included are as follows: Broken or rusted cutting tool bar bolts and wedges requiring easy-out work or drilling and tapping, worn journal surfaces causing a need for the rotor to be machined, need of new pinion bearings or seals, machining of ring gear, cross threaded or worn bearing retainer sleeve threads, etc. We do carry with us the bearings and seals needed for the pinion gear assembly. New ice cutting tools are needed and will be supplied by us at the current pricing, as an extra.
